I have the honour to request your covering
authority for the grant to the Tung Wah Hospital of an area shown coloured red on the attached plan and measuring about 1,800 square feet for the purposes of
a "farewell" or funeral pavilion, free of premium, and subject to a nominal Crown Rent of $1.00 per annum, and
to the attached terms and conditions.
2.
The pavilion to be erected is required as a
resting place for coffins on their way to the cemetery. At this resting place friends and distant relatives who do not proceed to the cemetery itself, take leave of the spirit of the deceased in accordance with Chinese
custom.
